Daily Mini Marathon started on Sunday with 100 runners competing in the first-day race in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
GUIYANG, China, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Daily Mini Marathon started on Sunday with 100 runners competing in the first-day race in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The 4.388-kilometer race set off its first stage in Danzhai, a tourist village built by China's Wanda Group with donations to Danzhai County.
The daily race encourages participants to run every day and their total distances will be awarded based on days, months and years.
Top five annual runners will receive up to 10,000 yuan (about 1,524 U.S. dollars) in cash, in addition to the opportunity to participate in the World Marathon Majors (WMM), which is a series consisting of six of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world. The races take place in Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York City.
Since it opened in 2017, Danzhai Wanda Village has gone viral for attracting more than 20 million visitors from all over the world. ■
